If there's one thing we hate around here it's awards. Maybe our bile spews forth because awards in general seem to reward the most obvious of contenders, leaving out a wide diversity of talent that exists in any given creative field. Perhaps it's because sometimes it appears as though the votes were "bought" for any given winner via ad revenue, kickbacks or any variety of scamola, thus nullifying the value of the award. Or, it could be the general lack of achievement that any award show seems to acknowledge.

However, more likely our distaste for awards is due to a recent lack of accolades bestowed upon us by AVN and Xbiz. One might even say that it would be reasonable to assume that, had we won any of the 10 awards we were nominated for this year, POPPORN might be stoic supporters of the established system of bestowing praise and glory upon those who dare to present creative, masterfully rendered works of cinema in the adult industry.

But we weren't so fuck you.

However, today we were informed that our friends over at TLARAW.com decided to jump into the awards pool. Sure, when it comes to online retailers there certainly isn't a lack of awards. You've got your Adult DVD Empire Awards, your AEBN VOD awards, hell, you even have your Transsexual Awards (which we weren't nominated for but better win), but do any of those awards offer nominations in such categories as Best Twitterer of the Year or Best Freak Out? The answer is no.

That's why we're going to go ahead and put our stamp of approval on these awards. At least they have some categories that make us chuckle. Oh, and of course they nominated a bunch of our movies for awards which give us another chance to boast, brag and ultimately whine when we don't win.

Fuck you.

Fans and industry folks are encouraged to vote and vote often for their favorites. Get on over here to commence that said votin'. There's no limit to the number of times someone can vote so you can be sure we'll be voting for ourselves about 30 million times. Meat Ball's on double duty.
