As much as porn is about fantasy, I for one am always aware that there are real performers who are potentially putting themselves in real danger as they work, even with plenty of routine testing. Condoms do kind of hurt the scene. I don't like seeing a rubber-covered penis enter the vagina for the same reason I don't like seeing dildos in porn. There's something unnatural about it. They're just rubbery and colorful. I know it sounds trivial and stupid, but I honestly get off easier seeing a naked penis go into a naked vagina, especially in gonzo porn. Part of it might be my unconscious psyche kicking in and reminding me just how much better sex feels without a condom. I know they're safe and healthy, but if everyone in the porn industry is getting regularly tested and the male porn stars are experienced enough to be able to pull out while the female stars are on birth control (I don't know any of these to be true, but I assume they are), condoms are unnecessary in porn for any reason other than promoting safe sex. And it's really not the porn's job to do that.

As a man who's never had sex WITHOUT a condom, I've never completely understood the lack of them in porn--or, when they are employed, they seem to magically "appear" on the penis, rather than actually being put on. When they do "appear," though, they don't bother me in the least. As for female condoms, they look like cumbersome things in real life, but I've never seen one used in porn--I'm always up (no pun intended) for a first!

A condom is a firm slap in the face of this fantasy, therefore it hurts the product most of the time. It's just the way it's developed. I don't see the wrong of condoms in porn, I've watched scenes, particularly in non-American porn, where condoms almost seems to be natural, you even get to see the guy putting it on. Did it change anything to the scene ? Absolutely not. The sex was just as hot and the ending was the same as in a scene with no condom.

You are right, I'm in my late 20s and in this day and age, I certainly wouldn't see myself having sex without a condom. Do I think it would be hot ? Yeah, sure, it probably is (I've never tried). But most importantly, would it be safe ? Could I calmly go back to my regular life afterward ? Most likely not. And I don't speak only for myself, I equally care about my partner's health. I almost never watch porn when the performers use condoms. I do not view anything that Wicked makes and a lot of that has to do with their condom only stance.
Two main reasons for me. I am in a long term exclusive relationship and we do not use condoms. As a guy it feels a hell of a lot better to have sex without one. I know that this is not the most PC thing to say but it is my take.
The second reason is that porn is a fantasy and an outlet for me. I do not fantasize about sex with a condom on. Nor do I find the same voyeuristic pleasure from watching a sex scene when a condom is involved. I understand the inherent risks involved for the performers and would not advise anyone I know to take these risks. Certainly a dangerous profession and I could understand if a girl or guy wanted to go condom only but I would not buy the product. I know that the reasoning may be a little flawed but sexual preference is sexual preference.
