I would like to start this review by saying that I hate vibrators that are overly "girlified" in their approach. Take, for instance, the Rabbit vibrator. It's the essential girlie vibe and that's why I hate it. Firstly, it's shaped like a rabbit - an animal I've never been particularly fond of or felt any feminine connection to. (Strike One). Secondly, it had a good portion of a Sex and the City episode devoted to it. (Strike Two). Thirdly, the bunny ears of the vibrator are too small to create the kind of deadly clit-throbbing action I'm looking for. And there we have...Strike Three.

The Passion Wave Butterfly, despite what its name might hint to you, is not some fucking pussy vibrator. Its self-proclaimed "Incredible Wave Motion" actually holds up to such a fantastic claim. There are half a dozen moving discs inside the shaft of this vibrator, which also happens to be pleasantly thick and appropriately shaped, shall we say rather un-coyly. The box even goes so far as to claim that this cushioned shaft is a "revolutionary new design" - and so are my stealth fingers, but I digress.

The Butterfly has three settings; as usual, I didn't fuck with any of them except the highest one (which could still stand to be a biiit higher, but then, I'm spoiled by the Hitachi). It also says that it reverses directions, but that wasn't very noticable to me once I'd inserted the damn thing. There are another few amusing noticables about the packaging, which are that 1. it notes that it has LED Display on the front of the vibe and 2. that it writes "vibrator" on the front in six different languages (I personally liked the Italian the best: "Vibratore!")

But now we come to what really makes this vibrator superior to the other animal-shaped, wussy vibrators. Apparently, rather unbeknownst to me, butterflies are way more dominant animals than say, rabbits or dolphins. And that's right up my alley! I think their dominance is because they have HUGE antennas - antennas that are designed to wrap neatly around your clit and throb the fucking shit out of it. Either California Exotic Novelties has genetically created some super-butterflies that are going to take over the world, one clit at a time - or, more likely, they just make a damn good sex toy.
