In 2005, several alt-models complaining of censorship and mistreatment of the models by management, launched a simultaneous legal and media battle against the site they had called home, SuicideGirls.com. In addition, the models complained that their SuicideGirls.com contract limited them from making a living since it included a non-compete agreement barring them from modeling for any other site or agency that dealt with nudity or erotica.
This battle raged on until last year when the warring parties came to terms and issued a press release that smelled so sickly-sweet you couldn't help but puke a little when you read it. The end result however, seemed to set a precedent for the industry raising important questions for talent and management when it comes to ownership, rights and responsibilities.
Last week, POPPORN.com received a press release from a group of alt-models who have worked for the popular adult alt site, LazerBunny.com which seems to stir this controversy once again. While we are not familiar with the content on the site (we get porn for free), we couldn't help but pay attention to this news item as the site is Philadelphia based (our hometown) and several contributors to POPPORN.com have at one time or still do model for LazerBunny.com.
Below we have reprinted the press release for your perusal. While newsworthy, we certainly consider this release to be rather one-sided and anonymous but damn!
"Dear Alternative Pornography and Mainstream Pornography Communities Alike,
We would like to address an important subject with you today: how much Sean Adamz sucks. Some of you, who have already had encounters this man, may already be aware of this fact, while some of you may not. We are here to set the record straight; Sean Adamz definitely, undeniably, and for as long as any of us have witnessed his obnoxious presence in our otherwise happy lives, sucks.
Following the creation of Lazerbunny.com, Sean Adamz's acheivements in the realm of "alt porn" include:
1. verbally abusing and threatening numerous models and actresses via text messages, MySpace, phone calls, emails, and other such technological devices
2. physically alienating models/actresses from their friends, families, outside resources, and in some cases, the existence of such important items as food or reasonable forms of shelter
3. coercing models/actresses into doing pornography that they are uncomfortable with
4. publically defaming models/actresses through such avenues as MySpace, as well as threatening to expose models/actresses to the community at large as either "unfit" or "irresponsible" models
5. being a crazy lunatic asshole
In light of such actions, we, the former models/actresses of Lazerbunny.com, suggest that everybody kick Sean Adamz out of the party. He is, shall we say, boguarding the keg. And we'd like that keg back. Also, he sucks.

I would wager to say that alt porn is DEFINITELY a popularity contest (the sex work industry in general is). We are all very willing to point the finger at large corporations when they fuck over hundreds of people, but when one person running a business fucks, say, over a dozen people, we are less inclined to think of it as business misbehavior. We just blame those people instead, as though it's a "personal problem."
Also, alt porn sites in general are designed to present an allegiance on the parts of their models. Look at Burning Angel. When you work for them, you ARE a Burning Angel. That takes a certain standard of protocol and behavior. When you defect, you are disavowing that allegiance. Not just quitting.

Yes, he does lock you up. I was stuck out in Philly as he watched everything I did. You are trapped in a huge (lacking of walls) wharehouse with him. There is no where to hide or talk private. Even the bathroom was wall-less...a toilet in the middle of an empty room so he can keep close watch of you. It is my personal belief that most people in alt porn either don't like Sean Adamz or are ignoring him. Unfortunately, if no one is willing to stand up and say that he's a very manipulative person who doesn't pay his models properly, uses threat tactics to get more content out of them for free, makes claims about model's popularity being his HIS acheivement (not theirs, well, then other models will audition for that site and get fucked over too.

sean adamz uses legal threats as well as threats to destroy model's social and professional relationships with outside people (such as their parents, friends, other sites) to manipulate them. it's very difficult to leave a situation when one fears their captor, and believes he will destroy their lives.

I also have taken both legal and police actions in this matter and that will iron itself out accordingly. I have to say that unfortunately, while it's important to let folks know about bad business people and shady characters, it does limit its validity when personal attacks are made as part of the release. I totally support what you are doing, but I wonder if it could been presented more professionally. How true. The thing that most people fail to keep in mind in regard to excercising our first amendment right, is that in order to have opinions, it is usually a pretty good idea to first have some facts to base their opinions on. It is pretty clear to me that whoever decided to reply with anonymous personal attacks did not have their facts straight; since I am such a generous person, I feel that it is my personal duty to provide everyone with some facts, so that any misunderstandings might be cleared up.
First of all, I am by no means a new writer. I am not quite sure what the author of that comment was basing his or her opinion on, but I can assure you, I have been writing for a very long time; in fact, I started writing at an earlier age than most people learned to read. I base this on statistical evidence which shows that most people learn to read at age 6, whereas I was already WRITING at that age. Needless to say, based on the lack of grammatical, punctuation and spelling errors thus far, I have only been improving my writing ability. And no, I did not use "Spell Check" or a word processing program to compose this message; I do not have to.
Secondly, I do not see the point in posting anything anonymously. I enjoy taking credit for the things I write. Anonymous postings, especially when they are unwarranted personal attacks, make the author(s) look not only like a coward, but also very immature. Public displays of immaturity equate to public displays of unintelliegence. Please do not put yourself in a position to make people with a baseline of average intelligence feel embarrassed for you.
The fact of the matter is, people have an easy time assuming things; they have an easy time acting like they know what they are talking about, but when it comes down to it, all they can really provide for you is BULLSHIT. Do yourself a favor; grow up, get your G.E.D., then form some opinions, assess every aspect of your life, compare it to mine, and THEN let's have a debate. I assure you that you will reveal yourself as a hypocrite- if not to me, then at least to yourself.

Judging by the massive number of comments by "anonymous" on this post, and the fact that this post has about 10 times more comments than any other post, I'd say that someone on lazerbunny's side has either created some sort of campaign to sway opinion on this matter, or is even all one person with even more time on his hands than the average popporn reader.
