Early Years

Legendary actor John Leslie was born in Pittsburgh in 1945 and as a young man, moved to Michigan where he worked as a bartender while trying to make it as a musician. He was a singer and played harmonica in a blues band called The Brooklyn Blues Busters. The Brooklyn Blues Busters quickly rose in the blues ranks and often backed up John Lee Hooker on his East Coast shows as well as Victoria Spivey, whom they called Queenie".

He made his porn debut in 1973, appearing in Sensuous Delights. He went on from there to perform in almost 400 films. Although many websites list his filmography around 600, many of the titles are compilations that feature Leslie's early scenes. After the eclipse of Holmes due to legal problems, Leslie inherited the mantle of the porn industry's top male superstar with the success of Talk Dirty To Me in 1980.
