Casserole Club, The
Breaking Glass PicturesIn a 1960s suburb, a group of housewives decides to form a recipe club and hold regular dinners with their husbands to see who can make the best casserole. But friendly competition soon turns to boozy flirtation and more than recipes end of getting swapped at their parties. What begins as rowdy fun ultimately lays bare the damaged lives and despair that could ultimately tear apart this seemingly close-knit group of friends.
Reasons to Buy
- A small amount of that "boozy flirtation" and "swapping" mentioned in the synopsis involves both gay and lesbian scenes!
- The Casserole Club comes from talented director Steve Balderson (the man behind Stuck! and Watch Out). This might be his most serious and ambitious film yet.
- Watch that trailer, tell me you're not riveted and I'll call you a liar! This movie is scandalous and totally intense. And I love the 1960s setting. This one should definitely please fans of "Mad Men."
